The jury returned a Not Guilty verdict on a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm following a jury trial.
The prosecution alleged that our client possessed a firearm that was discovered underneath the driver’s seat of the vehicle he was operating. Through our investigation, we identified evidence establishing ownership of the firearm by another individual. Despite this information, the prosecution continued to pursue the charge against our client.
Prior to trial, the prosecution offered a plea agreement that would have required our client to serve five years in prison. Believing the evidence did not support the allegations, we declined the offer and proceeded to trial.
After hearing all of the evidence, the jury found our client Not Guilty of all charges, successfully clearing him of the allegations and avoiding a potential 10-year prison sentence.
